Through our History curriculum at Lakeside Primary Academy, we aim to support pupils to understand chronology and how time progresses. Pupils will develop an understanding of many time periods and how these connect and interact with each other. Through a variety of experiences, pupils will be encouraged to use their imagination and develop a curiosity and wonder for the different historical periods. Lessons are structured to support pupils to develop an understanding of the past to help them make sense of the present and future. With encouragement, pupils will use their skills to develop their knowledge of the significance of cause and effect within time periods. Our aim is to develop confident learners who are able to discuss the impact significant events and figures have had on history and how they have influenced the world we live in today.
